roll of the dice...is it in the cards? go left or right? Posted by Hello

all kinds of energies circulating upstairs

Today you're going to start thinking about one of your relatives, someone you haven't talked to in a while, and it's going to make you decide that you should be in better touch with people. Across the board, you could be better about responding to e-mails, calling people back, etc. The thing is, you're easily distracted. For example, you'll probably be distracted later this week (by a sizzling love affair, no less). Over the weekend, once your heart rate has returned to normal, you should start thinking about ways to be more organized and on top of things.

so i've been checking my horoscope ritually (preferable at the end of the day so i can compare how right they are) and DAMN its BEeN rIghT alL the Time lately. i get this liking for them from mom who always send me them. its the gypsy influence on us eastern europeans. what better way to use up calling card money overseas to poland than analyzing dreams (my aunts always make me do it...).

any circulation up in the heavens is probably resultant from the chaos that happened downstairs during the parade this weekend. I rock too fast for love I’m footloose in my Velcro shoes. recovery period? not as long as expected. casualties? minimal, we prevented a kid from jumping out the window and i helped an unconscious kid get up from the sound factory floor AGAIN...there were a few holes punched in walls, but those are expected these days. midterms bring us back to that other reality called sko0l. i think spring break is going to put the senior scramble on hold for a while, give us a shot at stepping back and figuring out whY: the most nontherapeutic question in the world.

thats it. my thoughts are currently as random as my life is now. horoscope calls for more upredictablity....hoorah, love that best ;) at least I’m rocking steady to the beat in my head !

captives of Scrantonia Posted by Hello

Living on this college campus has often referred to as living in a bubble, or other times ironically a "cage", perhaps kind of like the one we got our groove on in at Tinks. Here we are a boatload of college kids, looking to find ourselves and break free from any obstacles blocking us from becomming truly amazing global revolutionaries. But soon enough this cage is going to break free and watch out world...

but in the meantime, breaking free is something that we kinda dont want to do. we've made mistakes. made messes. had fights. confused ourselves terrible. forgot what it is we came here for in the first place. learned some new tricks. helped people. grew up a little. shed tears. laughed til we cried. almost died. danced like everyone was watching. found family. and made some pretty fond memories, that are fuzzy, but all worthwhile attempting to remember.

so now what?

i think the bars surrounding the cage are getting loose!

what i want to be when i grow up Posted by Hello

proportions and a whole lotta nursing stuff

i'm sitting at my computer typing up a paper about the symmetrical proportions of the Parthenon and trying to count up all the columns that Vitruvius thought would make an ideal temple. No problem, I have witnessed some pretty well proportioned things in my life so I can do this ;)

And its so funny because now I'm like wow I chose to minor in art history after I spent the past nine hours in a hospital worrying about a patient that had an ileostomy, tracheotomy, was on a ventilator, had three suctioned tubes coming out of him (2 JP and an nasogastric tube), a multi-med cath, MANY MANY IV medications going in there, foley cath, and was getting TPN feeds. and that was just my first night at critical care i think i saw every technical thing in the book!

and really, i want a pair of UFO pants real bad!! i must get to a mall this weekend. i've even been dreaming about them.

Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten
From the Battery to the top of Manhattan
Asian, Middle-Eastern and Latin Black, White, New York
you make it happen
Brownstones, water towers, trees, skyscrapers
Writers, prize fighters and Wall Street traders
We come together on the subway cars
Diversity unified, whoever you are
We're doing fine
on the One and Nine line
On the L we're doin' swell
On the number Ten bus we fight and fuss
'Cause we're thorough in the boroughs and that's a must

At lunch I'd go to Blimpies down on Montague Street
And hit the Fulton Street Mall for the sneakers on my feet
Dear New York I hope you're doing well
I know a lot's happen and you've been through hell
So, we give thanks for providing a home
Through your gates at Ellis Island we passed in droves
The L.I.E. the B.Q.E
Hippies at the band shell with the L.S.D.
Get my BVD's from VIM
You know I'm reppin' Manhattan the best I can
Stopped off at Bleeker Bob's got thrown out
Sneakin' in at 4:00 am after going out
From the South South Bronx on out to Queens Bridge
From Hollis Queens right down to Bay Ridge
From Castle Hill to the Lower East Side
From 1010 WINS to Live At Five
Dear New York this is a love letter
To you and how you brought us together
We can't say enough about all you do
'Cause in the city were ourselves and electric too
we're still livin' And lovin' life we've been given
Ain't nothing gonna take that away from us
Were lookin' pretty and gritty 'cause in the city we trust
Dear New York I know a lot has changed 2 towers down
but you're still in the game Home to many rejecting know one
Accepting peoples of all places,
wherever they're from Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten
From the Battery to the top of Manhattan
Asian, Middle-Eastern and Latin Black, White
New York you make it happen
